Next Generation Incubation Scheme for software companies
The aim of NGIS is to provide a vibrant software product ecosystem in Tier-II cities to complement the robust IT Industry for continued growth, new employment and to enhance competitiveness. NGIS is being launched from 12 Tier-II STPI locations viz. Agartala, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mohali, Patna and Vijayawada.
Export of computer software and services that includes IT, IT enabled services and business process outsourcing grew at 12.2% and reached $193 billion in the year 2022-23. In order to encourage exports and domestic manufacturing of software and IT products and services, the government has extended special benefits to IT service startups setting up their units in the GIFT City SEZ in Gujarat.
These are available for setting up R&D facilities of IT companies, BPO and KPO units, operation of E-Commerce companies, setting up vertical IT parks as well as web-based, ERP and software application development.

Patent Assistance - Support for applying for patents is available at the rate of 50%, subject to a ceiling of 2 lakhs per patent for domestic patents and 5 lacs per patent for international Patents.
